Boys & Girls Clubs are advocating for youth to have the same opportunities and encouraging young people to harness the power of their voice.Boys & Girls Clubs of America condemns any act of racism or discrimination. We’ve made it our mission to change the opportunity equation for millions of kids who may not receive the same chance as their peers – sometimes because of their economic status, color of their skin, or other factors that contribute to the cycles of inequity we see in America today.

We advocate for youth to have the same opportunities and encourage young people to harness the power of their voice. We believe it is critical to speak up and take action.

As a nation, we can and must demand change to support Black people and anyone who faces prejudices as a result of systemic racism. Together, we must listen and take action to ensure the future is great for the millions of kids that are counting on us.

Boys & Girls Clubs, as a community-based organization, will be listening, learning, and taking action to support our nation during this critical time of change. Our pledge is to provide more solutions to support work on race, equity, and social justice so that kids, families, and communities can have a better tomorrow. Help get more kids on the road to a greater future.
Equality Florida is the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community.

Equality Florida formed in 1997 as Governor Jeb Bush took office and Florida’s state government made a hard turn to the right. In an era of setbacks for progressive causes, Equality Florida has defeated or neutralized every piece of anti-LGBTQ legislation filed in Tallahassee since our founding. These bills included efforts to: overturn all local anti-discrimination policies, repeal all safe schools policies, expand Florida’s anti-gay adoption ban, and prohibit domestic partnership benefits and protections.

Through lobbying, grassroots organizing, education, and coalition building, we are changing Florida so that no one suffers harassment or discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

Some of the initiatives EQFL is currently working on:
Hosting Black Lives Matter halls:BLM Town Hall - “LGBTQ Voices to Combat Racial Violence” https://eqfl.org/lgbtqblacklivesmatter

Creation of “LGBTQ Organizations Unite to Combat Racial Violence” petition
“LGBTQ organizations Unite to Combat Racial Violence,” the letter is a declaration of unity against racism and white supremacy.

Hate Crimes: Equality Florida continues to address the epidemic of hate crimes in three ways:
1. Rally community and faith leaders, as well as our members, to stand up to hate crimes every time they occur. Delivering a loud and public community-based response that hate crimes are completely unacceptable is a critical part of our effort in responding to such a tragedy.
2. Ensure local law enforcement and prosecutors treat hate crimes victims with dignity while investigating and prosecuting their attackers.
3. Work with LGBT and mainstream media to educate the public on the existence and impact of hate crimes and the disproportionate way the LGBT community is targeted. https://www.eqfl.org/index.php/Hate_Crimes

Voter Mobilization & Get Out The Vote (GOT!)
We know Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and LGBTQ individuals are underrepresented in our government, and EQFL is working to get diverse & progressive representation elected in the state of Florida.https://www.eqfl.org/index.php/2020-Historic-Primary-Election-Night
